| Gunnar Fermann is Associate Professor in Political Science (International Relations) at The Department of Sociology and Political Science at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) (since 1997), and holds a Magister Artium degree in Political Science from the University of Oslo (1991). Gunnar Fermann has been associated with The Norwegian Institute for International Relations (1985-88, 90-1), The Norwegian Defence Institute (1991), The Frithjof Nansens Institute (1992-94), and The Centre for Environment and Development, NTNU (1995-96).
Fermann is head of The E.On Ruhrgas Scholarship Programme Committee for Political Science/European Studies (2009-), head of The Advisory Council of Teachers Educational Programmes of the NTNU (2009-), head of The Teachers Programme in Social Sciences at NTNU (2008-), and associated with The Programme for Industrial Ecology, NTNU (2004-).
Present research activities focus on issues of energy-security and foreign-policy analysis. |

| Tor Georg Jakobsen is a post doctoral fellow in Political Science at NTNU. He obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science in 2011 at NTNU, and has previously worked at Trondheim Business School. At NTNU Jakobsen currently teaches courses on Advanced Social Statistics and Research Design and Methods. Previous teaching experience includes the following courses: Political and Security Risk and Quantitative Methods and Econometrics, both courses at Trondheim Business School. The title of his dissertation is Macro Factors and Public Opinion: An Investigation of Economic Left-Right Attitudes in Advanced Industrialized Democracies, a work within the sub-field of Political Behavior.

He has taught at Vanderbilt University and George Mason University, and has conducted research at University of Southern California, the Norwegian Nobel Institute and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Relations (SAIS).
His recent monographs include A History of International Relations Theory (1997), The Rise and Fall of World Orders (1999) and Blodspor (2003). He has edited The Norwegian Journal of Political Science and is currently working on issues concerning democracy, peace, terrorism and foreign policy. He is spending the spring semester of 2012 in Odense, as H.C. Andersen professor at the University of Southern Denmark. |
